We had been approved by the Central Santa Clara County Chapter of Thrivent to raise $6000 from June through November 30th and they would give us another $3,000. I’m excited to say we met that challenge. So many individuals and congregations helped us meet that goal. The Central Santa Clara also gave us $2,000 in expense funds to buy brochures and other supplies.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has given us lots of other support this year. The North Santa Clara County Chapter gave us $1,000 in matching funds for donations of $2,000. The Thrivent Community gave us $1,000 to help give out backpacks to our client’s children in August.
Last year, the National Foundation of Thrivent Financial for Lutherns gave us $10,000 to match donations. Having received $11,826.10 the matching funds were exceeded.
Also last year the Central Santa Clara County Chapter gave us $2,500 to match volunteer hours donated by teenagers.

The following Lutheran Churches have made monetary, clothing, household items, shoes, or handmade quilts donations to COME this year:
First Immanuel, Shepherd of the Valley, Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Holy Cross, Bethel of San Jose, Apostles Lutheran, and Trinity Cathedral. We are grateful to know we all share the vision of doing God’s work. Its reward is like heaven on earth.
